Grundsteinlegung

Neuer Wirtschaftsstand-ort für Basel

Ende August 2018 fand die Grundsteinlegung für die neuen Büro- und Laborflächen im Stücki Park statt. Damit werden die bereits bestehenden Flächen in zwei Etappen um vier Neubauten mit Büros und Labors erweitert. Bis 2023 wird der Stücki Park ein neuer Wirtschaftsstandort für Basel. Über 4'000 Menschen werden dann auf dem Areal arbeiten.

History

The Stücki site through ages

Stückfärberei Basel

The first dye works and bleacheries along the Wiese river appeared as far back as the Middle Ages. But Basel’s dying industry received extra impetus through industrialisation in the 19th century. Stückfärberei Basel dye works is considered one of the pioneers of the chemical industry for which the city is still known today.

Art and parties

The industrial revolution was followed by an era of art and enjoyment – in the form of performances, the variété venue Bimbotown and all-night parties. The city’s innovative spirit also shone through during this time. The Stücki site became a magnet for the public, attracting people from all over the region.

Shopping at the Stücki

The Stücki shopping centre opened on the site in September 2009. With its imposing towers and leafy façade, the Stücki quickly became a landmark in Basel Nord, injecting life into this up-and-coming district.

The new Stücki Park

Stücki Park now combines everything that has made the site so special over the years: innovation, leisure, health and shopping. It has remained a place that puts people at the centre, where they can meet and interact.
